Fuquay-Varina, N.C. - On the heels of being named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, Bethune-Cookman quarterback Brodrick Waters earned some additional hardware, at the national level, for his first appearance in B-CU uniform.
Waters was named National Player of the Week on Tuesday by Boxtorow. The 5-11, senior, Sarasota, Fla. native picked up the award after completing 6-of-9 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions. He also rushed for another 100 yards and a touchdown in the Wildcats' 38-28 victory over Alabama State in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge on Sunday.
Waters will be featured on www.boxtorow.com as the national honoree, and will also appear as a guest on the sports talk show FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW with host Donal Ware, which airs on 36 radio stations around the country including Saturdays before Bethune-Cookman football games on WELE-AM 1380. The show also airs on Fridays from 1-2 p.m. on SiriusXM Channel 141.
The Wildcats return to action this Saturday, traveling to Orangeburg, S.C. for a key MEAC matchup with South Carolina State at 6 p.m.
