DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The upcoming football game between Bethune-Cookman University
and North Carolina Central University is still slated for a 4 p.m. kickoff on
Saturday, Oct. 27 inside Daytona Beach's Municipal Stadium.
With
Hurricane Sandy just hours off the coast of Central Florida, the latest
projections have the storm moving out of the region by late Friday night,
leading into the early hours of Saturday morning. Thus, Saturday's Mid-Eastern
Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown of the "Battle of the Unbeatens" is still
scheduled for its original kickoff time.
"The university has been in contact with the
emergency management agencies in Volusia County and continues to monitor the
track of Hurricane Sandy," said Lynn Thompson, B-CU Director of Athletics. "At
present, our plans remain firm to kick off our regularly scheduled football
game against North Carolina Central University tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Municipal
Stadium. The reports indicate that weather conditions will be suitable for us
to play the game at its stated time."
Tickets for the game are still available for just
$25 at the B-CU Box Office and TicketMaster.com.
Live video, stats and updates from the game will be
available through the CatEye Network on BCUathletics.com, as well as in the
Wildcat Game Day Zone Companion.
