Isidore Jackson Collects CFPA National Weekly Honors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman's Isidore Jackson has been named this week's College Football Performance Award (CFPA) National Running Back of the Week. This is the first CFPA national award in his career.

Jackson, a 5-10, 205-pound junior from Mossy Head, Fla., led Bethune-Cookman with 158 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries against North Carolina Central over the weekend.

The Walton High product registered a career-long 93-yard touchdown in the third quarter, only to follow that up with a six-yard scamper late in the fourth as part of a 28-0 Wildcats run to propel B-CU to a 42-17 victory.

Currently, Jackson sits third in the league in rushing yards (88.4 per game), in addition to seventh in scoring (6.0 ppg) and all-purpose yards (100.0 per game).

North Carolina Central entered the weekend with the top rushing defense in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), allowing just 109 yards per game on the ground as a unit. Jackson and the Wildcats not only handed the Eagles their first MEAC loss of the season, but gashed them for 274 yards of rushing offense on the day.

B-CU returns to the field Saturday, Nov. 3 at Morgan State for a 1 p.m. contest against the Bears in Baltimore, Md.

The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferment in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.

As prominent scholars from a wide variety of disciplines note, CFPA eliminates the politics and biases that vitiate balloting-based awards.
