DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -
The Bethune-Cookman women's tennis team completed an undefeated weekend with a 6-1
victory over Florida State College of Jacksonville Sunday morning at City
Island Courts.
The Lady Wildcats (3-2)
defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 5-2 on Friday and Coastal
Georgia 6-1 on Saturday. Maria Dimitrova and Shereen Peterson-Paul
each went 3-0 in singles play while Gaby Chinchilla and Chinatsu Kijawara won
all three of their doubles matches.
"We scheduled the
weekend for competitive play," said B-CU Head Coach Tim Pleasant. "I wanted to
see how the newcomers stood and they showed they can be good Division I
players."
B-CU returns to action
Feb. 15 against FAU and Feb. 16 against Hampton.
