DAYTONA BEACH,Fla. – Bethune-Cookman closed its 2013 regular season with a 5-0 loss to Florida Gulf Coast Sunday morning at City Island Courts.

The Lady Wildcats (14-11) will enter next week's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 3 seed from the Southern Division.

Florida Gulf Coast (11-7) swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead, then won four singles matches in straight sets as the Eagles posted their first winning season as a Division I program.

Sophomore Gaby Chinchilla had her 10-match winning streak snapped. She finished the regular season with a 16-7 singles record and 14-7 in doubles. Senior Shereen Peterson-Paul was 13-6 in singles play and 12-7 in doubles.
