RALEIGH, N.C. – Bethune-Cookman's 2013 Spring tennis season concluded Saturday with both teams falling to South Carolina State by 4-0 scores in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament semifinals at Millbrook Tennis Center.
The Lady Wildcats finish with a 15-12 record while the Wildcat men were 13-16.
MEN'S RECAP
Two 8-1 victories gave South Carolina State the doubles point, then the Bulldogs got points from Tomas Bizon's 6-0,6-3 win over Juan Varon, Artemiy taking a 6-2,6-1 win over Diego Garavito and Jiri Stiburek downing Moritz Pronath for their singles points.
B-CU's Santiago Lobelo won his first over Anton Protsenko and was in the third set when play was halted.
Leonardo Lima finished was a 15-8 mark for the Wildcats this season.
WOMEN'S RECAP
South Carolina State used a pair of 8-1 victories to take the doubles points, then got singles wins from Klara Dohnalova over Gaby Chinchilla, Katerina Nakonechna over Valentina Beresiarte and Victoria Khatcei over Maria Dimitrova for its four points.
Chinatsu Kajiwara was up 3-1 in the second set over Maria Cracuin when play was halted.
Chinchilla finished the season with a 16-8 mark, while senior Shereen Peterson-Paul was 14-6.
