DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman was back in familiar surroundings Saturday morning, returning to Municipal Stadium for an extended practice session.
Training camp has been at New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex while renovations to on-campus facilities continue. Moving to Municipal Stadium gave the Wildcats a chance to practice under game conditions and reacquaint them to oh-so-not pleasant-middle-of-the-day-on-field-turf in-August (Read: Darned hot) experience.
"It's all mental," said B-CU Head Coach Brian Jenkins about conditions. "You have to be ready to play no matter what."
Jenkins labeled Saturday's effort an "average" effort.
"This team is a work in progress," Jenkins said. "We have a long way to go before we're as good as we can be."
Sunday will see the Wildcats host team picture and media day at Municipal Stadium beginning in the early morning and a potential evening practice to make up for sessions cancelled due to inclement weather.
