Trevisan Co-Champ At SCSU Bulldog Invitatational

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - Bethune-Cookman's Patrizia Trevisan posted both her best round and 54-hole collegiate total to share first place honors at the South Carolina State Bulldog Invitational Tuesday at Patriot Points Links.

The sophomore shot a career-low 69 in Tuesday's final round to tie Wofford's Anne Marie Covar with a 54-hole total of 214, two-under par.

Also under par with a 71 in the opening round, Trevisan carded her first two sub-par rounds en route to her second career victory in which she cut 11 shots over her previous 54-hole low of 225 at the 2012 National Minority Golf Championships.

"Today was the best round ever," said Trevisan. "Winning the tournament was just part of it. I've dreamed of playing like this. You take it one hole at a time. Conditions were windy, so you had to think and play smart."

Trevisan, who recorded 10 birdies in the tournament, has been in the top five twice in B-CU's three fall events.

"I'm comfortable with my swing," Trevisan said. "I have the swing I really want."

Jennifer Hide and Andrea Orozco each had their best round and 54-hole totals to earn top ten finishes as B-CU finished second in the team standings with an 895, 11 shots behind Wofford.

Hide, who had two rounds of 74, finished eighth with a 223 while Orozco, who shot a 71 in the opening round, came in tied for tenth at 228.

Marie Bergelin, who had one of four eagles in tournament, came in 19th at 235 while Estefania Acosta tied for 22nd at 239.
