CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The Bethune-Cookman bowling team closed this weekend's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division Tournament with a split of four matches on Sunday at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Va. The two-day event was hosted by Norfolk State University.

Coming off a 2-2 record in team matches on Saturday, the 18th-ranked Bethune-Cookman Wildcats took to the lanes in four baker matches to conclude the event Sunday. The Cats came away with a split of the four matches and a 2-2 record after defeating rival Florida A&M and North Carolina A&T, but falling to North Carolina Central and Norfolk State, respectively.

On the weekend, B-CU had three bowlers - Natalee Armstrong, Felicia Baker and Staci Hilliard - rank amongst the top six individual bowlers. Additionally, Hilliard and Armstrong earned spots on the all-tournament team. For Hilliard, it represents the second time this season she has made her way onto the all-tournament team for an MEAC event, concluding the season's first event as the top individual bowler.

"Individually, we are bowling well," said B-CU head coach Tony O'Neal. "We just aren't putting it all together as a collective unit right now. Once we start putting our individual efforts together with our team efforts, I think we'll have it figured out and have the chance to be pretty good."

Hilliard concluded Saturday with a 205 average, while Armstrong finished with an average of 202. Baker was just one pin off from the all-tournament team with an average of 201 in the team matches.

Overall for the weekend, the Wildcats finished 4-4 in team and baker matches, respectively.

The Wildcats will get back to the lanes again Jan. 25-27 when they travel to the Kutztown Invitational in Ready, Pa.
