- The 19th-ranked Bethune-Cookman University bowling team finished up its
three-day event at the Kutztown Invitational on Sunday at Heister Lanes.
Serving as the largest regular season tournament of the 2012-13 campaign,
Kutztown University was the host for the tournament.
The Wildcats finished the weekend with a record of 6-8 against a very competitive field of numerous nationally-ranked teams.
Sunday's portion of the tournament was a bracket format
with best-of-seven games in Baker matches.
Bethune-Cookman opened the day with a 4-2 win over
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe North Carolina Central in its
opening round contest. That was followed with a tough 4-1 setback to New Jersey City.
On the weekend, senior Staci Hilliard was named to the all-tournament team for B-CU, continuing to improve her game on the season. This is her fifth all-tournament team appearance on the season.
"I'm happy to see Staci make it to the all-tournament team," said B-CU head coach Tony O'Neal. "I thought the team did okay under the circumstances that we were in."
B-CU gets back to action next weekend as they travel to
the Prairie View Invitational in Arlington, Texas. The tournament begins Friday,
Feb. 1.
