Men's Basketball Gameday: Florida A&M

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman celebrates basketball homecoming as arch rival Florida A&M comes to town Saturday at 4 p.m.

It's the halfway point of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play, and the Wildcats are trying position themselves for a late-season run for prime positioning for the MEAC tournament

Florida A&M won the first meeting 75-68 on Dec. 1 behind 24 points from Jamie Adams. Adrian Coleman and Alex Smith scored 17 and 13 for B-CU.

THE CONFERENCE RACE:

Current Standing: T8th (2-4)

Games Behind 1st: 4 behind Norfolk State (7-0)

Games Behind 3rd: 2.5 behind Savannah State (5-1)

NOTE: The top three teams earn a first-round byeIf the MEAC tournament were tomorrow: B-CU would face Florida A&M in the opening round to meet Norfolk State in the quarterfinals.

FEBRUARY FIGHT: After their first losing January (3-5) since 2008, B-CU's looking for a strong February run for a shot at the MEAC title. In the past two years, B-CU is 11-5 in February and 13-4 overall after in the final five weeks of each season leading into the tournament.
