DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Head Coach Jason Beverlin recognized the addition of some added strength for Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, with the announcement of the off-season signing of four new Wildcats for the current class of 2012.

The latest players joined the team on Monday for the first day of classes at B-CU and consist of three junior college players and one high schooler. The class additions also strengthen the infield and pitching staff, with two infielders, a utility player and a right-handed pitcher.

Shaun McCarty - 5-11, 200 - IF - Paradise Valley Community College - Campe Verde , Ariz.

Winner of the 2012 Rawlings Gold Glove Award

Head Coach Beverlin on McCarty: "Shaun is a hardnosed player with exceptional defensive skills.  He won the Rawlings gold glove and did so playing through an injury.  We hope his style of play will influence the entire team and make the pitching staff and defense better."

Matt Noble - 5-11 - 175 - IF - Brevard Community College - Melbourne, Fla.

Head Coach Beverlin on Noble: "Matt is a strong hitter who can play 3B, SS, and 2B.  He looks to compete at all three positions and his offensive ability will give him a shot at all three.  He is also a sure-handed defender that makes plays.  We are lucky to have him on board. "

Zach Barrett - 5-10 - 215 - RHP - Timber Creek High School - Orlando, Fla.

Head Coach Beverlin on Barrett: "Zach is a perfect fit for our team; he is a competitor with ties to the University.  He has a strong arm and an excellent work ethic.  We look for him to make considerable strides early and be a force for us on the mound."

James Hood - 5-8 - 184- UT - Longview Community College - Holden, Mo.

Head Coach Beverlin on Hood: "James is another competitive, athletic, strongly-built kid. He is solid behind the dish, has a strong arm from the OF and will solidify the catching corps, as well as compete in the outfield and on the mound."
