Williams, Hackney Earn Top MEAC Weekly Honors
Making his second start of the season, sophomore quarterback Quentin Williams earned MEAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after completing 11-of-19 passes for 128 yards with one touchdown, in addition to rushing for 111 yards on 17 attempts with two touchdowns, leading B-CU to its ninth consecutive conference victory and 4-2 mark on the year.
Watching Williams' back and paving the way for the Wildcats' backfield, sophomore tackle Terrance Hackney earned B-CU's first Offensive Lineman of the Week in the 2012 season. Hackney graded out at 95 percent on his assignments as he aided the Wildcats to 310 yards of total offense in the Homecoming victory over North Carolina A&T. He also made a key downfield block, allowed no pressures on Williams, and recorded four pancake blocks in the victory.
Heading into week six, this is the fourth time that the Wildcats have earned at least one MEAC weekly player awards on the year. B-CU is currently tied with Howard for the lead in conference play, both holding a 3-0 MEAC record. The Wildcats are off this week with a BYE, but return to Municipal Stadium next Saturday to face Norfolk State in the Second Annual Biker Classic. Kickoff on Oct. 20 is set for 4 p.m.
