B-CU Doubles Does Well At C.L. Varner

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Two Bethune-Cookman doubles teams and Santiago Lobelo advanced to the semifinals of their respective flights at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational hosted by Rollins College last weekend.

The teams Gaby Chinchilla/Chinatsu Kajiwara and Kip Jackson/Moritz Pronath each won two matches in the Women's  "A" flight and Men's "B" flight, respectively.

Lobelo  downed David Espinsosa of Flagler College and Cooper Maxwell of Rollins before falling Max Kouyate of Lynn.

Seve Day and Kip Jackson advanced to the "C" consolation finals, with Day taking a 6-3, 6-3 victory. Maria Dimitrova made it to the "D" consolations finals.

All four B-CU men's doubles teams won their first-round match.

Both B-CU teams will wrap up their fall schedule Nov. 2-4 at the Florida State championships in Tampa.
