Men's Basketball Gameday: North Carolina Central
DURHAM, N.C. -- The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's top two scorers face off Monday when Bethune-Cookman meets North Carolina Central at 7:30 p.m.
B-CU (9-15 overall, 4-5 MEAC) features Adrien Coleman, who is averaging a MEAC best 17.3 points per game while North Carolina Central (16-7, 9-0)
is led by Jeremy Ingram's 15.6 per night scoring clip.
The Wildcats can't lollygag against a strong Eagle team if they want to avoid an 0-2 road trip. After Saturday’s 65-55 loss at North Carolina A&T, the Wildcats are in danger of their first winless conference two-game swing since 2010.
THE CONFERENCE RACE:
Current Standing: T7th (4-5)
Games Behind 1st: 5.5 behind Norfolk State (10-0)
Games Behind 3rd: 3 behind Savannah State (7-2)
NOTE: The top three teams earn a first-round bye.
If the MEAC tournament were tomorrow: B-CU would face Howard or Coppin State in the opening round for a chance to upset North Carolina Central for the second straight year in the quarterfinals.
