UPDATED: 2/23/13 -- 10:05 a.m.

MACON, Ga. - Bethune-Cookman baseball's Friday series opener with Mercer was first rescheduled due to inclement weather in central Georgia to open with a Saturday doubleheader. Heavy overnight rains forced a single, 5 p.m, Saturday game, with a doubleheader now scheduled for Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m.

Heavy rain storms pushed through the region as expected on Thursday and Friday, resulting in flood warnings throughout the Macon, Ga. area after a heavy downpour for several hours overnight on Friday, making the field unplayable for the scheduled early start.

The Wildcats and Bears will play a single game on Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m. The rescheduled doubleheader will continue as two full-length games on Sunday, instead of the typical nine and seven inning format, with first pitch set for 1 p.m. at Claude Smith Field.
