Men's Basketball Gameday: South Carolina State

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman continues its final three-game homestand Saturday looking for a season sweep of South Carolina State on Senior Day.

The Wildcats snapped a two-game losing with Monday's 64-50 victory over Howard as they look to improve their seeding for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament. 


Current Standing: 8th (5-6)

Games Behind 1st: 6.0 behind Norfolk State (12-0) (eliminated)

Games Behind 3rd: 4.0 behind Savannah State (10-2)

Games Behind 5th: 0.5 behind Morgan State and North Carolina A&T (6-5)

NOTE: The top three teams earn a first-round bye.

If the MEAC tournament were tomorrow: B-CU would face Florida A&M in the opening round for a chance to meet Norfolk State in the quarterfinals.

ABOUT SCSU: The Bulldogs snapped a 13-game losing streak last Saturday against North Carolina A&T but fell to NC Central Monday. Matthew Hezekiah leads SCSU with averages of 13.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg.

FAMILIAR: Hezekiah and Alex Smith were teammates at both Lee HS in Jacksonville and Florida State College in Jacksonville.

STAT STUFF: Adrien Coleman and Kevin Dukes are holding their leads in two MEAC stat categories. Coleman has a 26-point lead over Jeremy Ingram for the scoring title while Dukes is six three-pointers ahead of Coppin State's Andre Armstrong. 

NEXT UP: Home finale against Savannah State Monday will be a "White Out."
