UP NEXT: The Bethune-Cookman men’s golf team, No. 132 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, stays in state this weekend as the Wildcats travel to compete in the Florida A&M Spring Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. This is the second consecutive tournament in which the Wildcats will compete in the Sunshine State.
WHERE: Southwood Golf Club (par 72, 6,653 yards)
WHEN: Saturday, March 23 – Sunday, March 24
TEE TIMES: Play will begin each day at 9 a.m. Eastern off Nos. 1 and 10. Bethune-Cookman will play alongside host FAMU and another team to be determined in Saturday’s first round beginning at 9:45 a.m. off the first tee. Second and third-round pairings will be based off team standings.
THE TOURNAMENT FIELD: Alabama State, Bethune-Cookman, Edward Waters, Florida A&M, Hampton, Laval and Savannah State.

LAST YEAR AT FAMU SPRING INVITATIONAL: JaMichael Jones sank a tap-in birdie putt on the first playoff hole to win medalist honors as Bethune-Cookman took first place the Florida A&M Spring Invitational. B-CU used its opening round of 289 to start the day with a three-shot lead over host Florida A&M and wound up winning the team title by six over the Rattlers, 579-585.
LAST TIME OUT: Ryan Fricker finished 1-under-par across two rounds to help the Bethune-Cookman men's golf team to a second place finish on Tuesday at the Don Benbow Invitational. Fricker finished his second round with a 1-under-par 69 and tied alongside Cleveland State's Andrew Bailey. He later took his second individual title of the spring season following a playoff hole win against Bailey. As a team, the Wildcats were just four shots off the lead from tournament champion Florida Atlantic (289-293=582, +14). Bethune-Cookman (295-291=586, +18) trailed by six strokes entering the day, cutting it from Fricker's play in Tuesday's final round.
