B-CU Football to Host Inaugural Women’s Clinic
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman football head coach Brian Jenkins will host the inaugural Women’s Football Clinic on Saturday, April 13 at the Larry R. Handfield Athletic Training Center on the B-CU campus. Admission to the clinic is free.
Registration will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. with light refreshments in the Larry R. Handfield Athletic Training Center. It will begin with a welcome introduction from Coach Jenkins, followed by the introduction of his staff.
“At this past year’s Fan Fest, we got the women in attendance involved by running them in a few plays with the help of our coaches,” said Jenkins. “This clinic is a way to bring the female demographic even closer into the Bethune-Cookman Football Family, and it gives them a chance to go inside the game more than ever before with our staff.”
The purpose of this clinic is to provide every woman the opportunity to listen and interact with the coaches on the Wildcats football staff and to gain knowledge and insight into the game of college football...and to have fun while doing it. The content of the clinic has been geared towards providing basic and fundamental information with the opportunity to take your understanding to the next level.
“A large part of our fan base are females, and this is a way to get them even more knowledgeable and involved into the game they love so much,” stated B-CU Director of Athletics Lynn W. Thompson.
The format of the clinic is designed to provide every woman the basic concepts and nuances of Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. The lecture format will allow the participants to ask questions throughout the clinic.
