ATLANTA - The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats are coming down the homestretch of the 2012-13 track season with the final regular season meet of the year up this weekend at the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility for the Georgia Tech Invitational.

With one probable Regional entrant already on the hook, the Wildcats are looking to add to the squad for the NCAA Division I East Outdoor Preliminary Round in Greensboro, N.C., with competition running May 23-25.

Freshman Tristie Johnson is already high in the rankings for the 100m and 200m. Attempting to join her on the strength of performances this weekend at Georgia Tech are Sasha Smallwood (Pole Vault), Darnell Washington (100m), Angelo Cabrera (100m), Tremayne Banks (100m, 110m Hurdles), Jimel Wright (Triple Jump), La’Quan Howard (Triple Jump) and Keron Stoute (High Jump).

Competition begins Friday in Atlanta and runs through Saturday.

Head Coach Donald Cooper sat down with B-CU Athletic Communications to preview the weekend and provide a quick recap overview of the end of the outdoor regular season.
