Women’s Golf 12th at Pat Bradley Invitational
SARASOTA, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman women’s golf suffered a tough second round Monday, falling to 12th place overall at the 36th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. The event is being hosted by Florida International University.
Senior Marie Bergelin (Copenhagen, Denmark) was the hot golfer for the Wildcats Monday, as she fired a second round 3-over-par 75, matching her first round total from Sunday. She currently sits tied for 33rd in the individual tournament field, using a two-day scorecard of 150 (+10).
After leading all B-CU golfers in the first round, junior Jennifer Hide (Norfolk, England) shot an 8-over-par 80 in Monday’s outing, dropping her down to a tie for 45th overall in the tournament field. She has a two-day total of 9-over-par 153 for the tournament. Tied with Hide is classmate Patrizia Trevisan (Leopoldsdorf, Austria) who shot a second-round 1-under-par 71, bouncing back from an unusually poor round of 82 in Sunday’s opening 18 holes.
The 71 for Trevisan marks her best round of the fall, with the previous low being a second-round 75 effort at the FGCU Eagle Invitational.
Junior Andrea Orozco shot an 11-over-par 83 Monday, giving her a two-round score of 158 (+14) and placing her in a tie for 65th in the field.
The final golfer for B-CU is freshman Alice Plumb (Somerset, England). The England native shot a second round 90, putting her at a two-day 170 (+28) and tied for 89th after the first two days of the tournament.
Daytona State (293-287=580) sits in first place after two days of golf, followed by Maryland (291-293=584) and host FIU (287-298=585) in second and third, respectively.
Play continues with the final round Tuesday in a shotgun start format through 18 holes beginning at 9:30 a.m.
