About the Lady Wildcats
Having taken the time to recover from last week’s fatiguing games, the Lady Wildcats look to take on a pair of home contests and major events, opening with Saturday’s Delaware State matchup.
Chastity René Taylor continues her consistent senior campaign with a 16.5 PPG average to lead the Lady Wildcats, but she’s definitely been getting some more help along the way. Fellow senior Shakeyia Colyer chips in 11.8 PPG, while also leading the team in steals (1.5 SPG) and assists (2.8), and ranks second in rebounds (5.2 RPG).
Freshman Kailyn Williams has 75 blocks on the year, just one more and she moves into second on the all-time best blocked shot seasons lists. Not to mention that she’s progressed into a solid all-around contributor, putting up 6.4 PPG and a team-leading 6.7 RPG.
In addition, sophomore Taylor Houston adds 5.1 PPG and 5.1 RPG.
The Lady Wildcats' "Think Pink" event aids in the cause to raise breast cancer awareness. For the outgoing seniors, this is their final game in Moore Gymnasium, as the "Senior Day" event vs. Florida A&M will be at the Ocean Center next week.
About the Hornets
The Hornets have dropped three straight, all at home, and are just 2-10 away from Dover this season. The injury-riddled Hornets have struggled lately without the double double input of Tierra Hawkins, and will rely heavily on the scoring efforts of Raven Bankston, who averages 19.4 PPG.
In addition, Deanna Harmon has been hitting the glass hard for DSU, snagging 7.2 RPG, while scoring 12.0 PPG. Keep an eye out for Harmon, who is coming off a career-high 24 point performance against SSU. She was deadly from the free throw line against the Lady Tigers.
As always at home, Bethune-Cookman Athletics will provide live stats at this link. In addition, the game will be streamed live (for a subscription fee) on the CatEye Network. Fans can also keep up with game action with steady updates from Bethune-Cookman's social media outlets.
