TENNIS ROUND-UP: Both B-CU Teams Fall

Bethune-Cookman dropped its Women’s home-opener 4-3 to Georgia Southern while the Men’s team lost 4-0 at North Florida.

The Lady Wildcats (2-5) got wins from Mina Matsuba, Elizabeth Nwenye and Maria Sablina in positions 1-3, but the Eagles took numbers 4-6 and the doubles point to improve to 4-1.

At Jacksonville, the Ospreys (2-5) took a 4-0 decision to keep the Wildcat men winless (0-6) on the season. Walid Gtari and Diego Garavito won sets, but their matches were unfinished.

Both teams are in action Sunday, with the women hosting Iowa State at 9 a.m. and the men Georgia Southern at 2 p.m.
