Banks Name MEAC Track Athlete of the Week
NORFOLK, Va. - Bethune-Cookman track & field earned its fourth weekly conference award of the outdoor season, and Tremayne Banks earned his second, as officials from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced that Banks has been named MEAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week on Thursday (April 10).
Banks (Sr., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) earned 23rd place in the 110m hurdles at the prestigious Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., logging what would still score as the third best time in the MEAC (and 22nd nationally) despite a stumble off hurdle nine. In addition, he served as a member of three different relay teams; the 4x100m, 4x400m and sprint medley. The sprint medley finished 10th with a combined time of 3:24.32.
Banks first picked up weekly accolades on March 27 for his performances at the CCU Shamrock Invitational.
The Wildcats are in between meets this week, heading back to Gainesville next weekend for the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on April 19.
