DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University Head Volleyball Coach Isaac Raphael  officially announced today the addition of Rakaya Neely to the Lady Wildcat program.

The freshman middle blocker from Frostproof, Fla. has been invited to travel with the 2014 Team Florida High Performance All-Star Delegation to the USA HP Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma July 22-26.

Neely was a four-year volleyball letter winner  at Frostproof. Also a track standout, she won three district championships in the 400 meter dash.

“We’re very fortunate to add Rakaya,” Raphael said. “She’s going to excel on the court and in the classroom as well. “The experience she’s gaining now with the High Performance team is going to be a huge asset for our program.”

Bethune-Cookman opens its 2014 season August 29-30 at the Florida Atlantic University, facing host FAU, Stetson and McNeese State.
