B-CU Set To Host Eric Lewis' All-Star Weekend
Lewis, a proud Mainland HS and B-CU alum, just completed his 10th season as an NBA official, which saw him officiate in the post-season for the sixth consecutive year. He is the husband of B-CU Women's Basketball Head Coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis. Together, the couple had their first child this past February.
The weekend is being made possible through the foundation of James Henry and his wife, Charlene – the F.L.Y. (Future Leaders in You) Success Foundation, Inc., which believes in bridge building for area youth to help them reach their dreams, by offering unique programs, resources and opportunities. This event is part of the foundation’s “Keep Encouraging Youth” Back To School Supply Drive.
“It’s always good to be on the B-CU campus, especially when you have the opportunity to provide a positive experience that benefits the community, “Lewis said. “I’m looking forward to a day of fun and fellowship.”
Activities begin at 10:30 a.m., with a free basketball camp for 50 participants. Registration begins at 10 a.m., on a first-come, first-served basis.
At 4:30 p.m., Lewis hosts a Back-N-The -Day All-Star Game that will include a dunk contest, three-point shootout, live music, door prizes and more.
