PHILADELPHIA – Bethune-Cookman University Football enters the 2014 season ranked No. 22 in The Sports Network Preseason Top 25 Poll, announced Friday afternoon from their home offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bethune-Cookman finished the 2013 season as co-champions of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), claiming their second consecutive league title – the third of its kind under fifth-year head coach Brian Jenkins. The preseason favorites to win the conference crown yet again, B-CU ranks No. 23 in The Sports Network Preseason Poll after amassing a 10-3 overall record last year.

The Wildcats collected 475 points in the preseason poll, sitting ahead of teams from Northern Arizona (23), Youngstown State (24) and Maine (25), respectively.

The Eastern Washington Eagles are the preseason’s top-ranked team, claiming 82 first place votes. Behind them is North Dakota State, winners of the last three consecutive Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) national championships. Southeastern Louisiana, New Hampshire and Montana round out the top five schools in the initial poll.
