GRASONVILLE, MD. - The first hole left Bethune-Cookman at four under par. The remaining 17 left the Wildcats tied for tenth after the opening round of the Fireline Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club.

B-CU's team total of 302 is 14 shots off the pace of leaders Northern Colorado, who shot an even par 288.

All four Wildcats birdied the opening hole as the team made the turn at even par, but the back nine proved difficult as the team combined on 15 bogeys/double bogeys with just two birdies. Here's the challenge: B-CU will start Saturday's second round on the back nine.

Alex Clapp and Emmanuel Petrich are tied for 36th at 75, seven shots behind co-leaders Anthony DeGol of Penn State and Scott Rainaud of Faifield. Rafael Abad and Matthew McKnight are tied for 47th after shooting a 76.
