DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Game officials and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference umpires suspended play during the series-opening baseball contest between Savannah State and Bethune-Cookman at Jackie Robinson Ballpark for weather on Saturday (March 29) afternoon.

Heading into the top of the seventh inning, rains began and caused the game to be halted. At the time, Savannah State held a 3-0 lead, after capitalizing on a pair of Bethune-Cookman errors in the top of the fourth. With significant rain and thunderstorm activity forecasted and displaying on the radar, the game was been suspended and scheduled to resume on Sunday (March30).

The game will resume in the top of the seven on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The continuation will be followed by the scheduled doubleheader of nine and seven-inning games.
