SENIOR (2018-19): Diakite made 19 starts and appeared in two other contests ... averaged 18.6 minutes and shot nearly 50% from the floor (49.6%) ... drained 10-24 three-pointers (41.7%) ... averaged 7.7 points and 5.4 rebounds ... totaled 19 steals and 13 blocks ... season-best 20 points against Delaware State (1/19/19), and 15 rebounds at Cal Poly (12/8/18).

JUNIOR (2017-18): Diakite was named BCU's second-ever Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year ... he pulled in a conference-best 313 rebounds (28th nationally) and 9.8 per-game ... led the MEAC with a 6.59 defensive rebounding average and a 3.19 offensive board average ... in the regular season finale at FAMU (3/1) led BCU to a share of its second ever MEAC regular season title with 27 points on 13-13 shooting ... he became the only player in the 2018 season to go 13-13 from the floor in the NCAA ... finished third in the MEAC with 11 double-doubles ... posted season-high in points vs. FAMU (27) and in rebounds vs. Norfolk State (17 on 1/27) ... finished the season shooting 57.3% from the floor to set a new BCU single-season record ... played in all 32 games and started the last 30 ... pulled in 10+ rebounds in 18 games ... collected MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors three times.

Before BCU: Soufiyane Diakite, a 6-6 forward, is a Bronx, N.Y. product who averaged 13.0 ppg and a team-high 6.1 rebounds at Cowley County (KS) College in 2015-16, earning Second Team Honors in The Jayhawk Conference. He spent 2016-17 season at Morehead State (Ky.) University, averaging 6.5 ppg and 2.7 rpg in six games before deciding to transfer mid-season.
